HURRICANE, Utah — First responders were called to a possible drowning on Quail Creek Reservoir Friday night.

According to Utah State Parks Lt. Regan Wilson, an 18-year-old man from Nevada was fishing in a kayak when his line became tangled and he fell into the water, never resurfacing.

He was under the water for about 20 minutes, Wilson said. Park manager Candace Smith was able to spot him under the water using a flashlight, St. George News reports, and his father pulled him out. CPR was administered and the 18-year-old was rushed to the hospital unresponsive.

It is currently not known if he survived or what his condition is.
