WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Police are looking for a male suspect in connection with reports of domestic violence in West Valley City Monday morning.

Neighbors of a home near 1500 W Parkway Ave. first contacted police around 3:45. The suspect was accused of brandishing a handgun.

As officers arrived at the scene, the suspect fled in a white GMC Yukon. As officers went to check on a woman and three children inside the home, the suspect returned.

"The male driver fled on foot. Our biggest concern at the time was the welfare of the female victim that we had information went back in the house. It took us several minutes to make contact with her, make sure that she was OK and the children were OK," said Lt. Shane Matheson, West Valley City Police Department.

Police thoroughly searched the Yukon and discovered body armor and several firearms.
