SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah — One person was flown to the hospital by a medical helicopter after a "serious accident" Saturday evening in Saratoga Springs.

Shortly before 5:45 p.m., police say a small car turning left at Pioneer Crossing and Riverside Drive was hit by a pickup truck. They did not state which vehicle had the right of way.

A female passenger in the car was airlifted to a hospital in Provo. Police say she was in stable condition, despite serious injuries that they believed could have been fatal.

The crash, medical response and cleanup forced the eastbound lanes of Pioneer Crossing to be closed at Redwood Road. They reopened at about 8:30 p.m.
