OREM, Utah — A car crash Friday night left two people dead and two others injured.

Orem Police said around 9:20 p.m., one vehicle was traveling south on State Street when it collided with a car turning left onto westbound 400 South.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was the sole occupant, and the vehicle turning left had two passengers along with the driver.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, the two passengers were found dead. The drivers of both vehicles were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The two deceased passengers were identified Monday as Hailee York and Ashlyn Hanzon, both 21 years old.

"Our hearts go out to the families of all involved," Orem Police wrote.

Police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation as of Monday, and no further details were released.
