One dead, one injured after driver runs stop sign in SLC, police say

SALT LAKE CITY — One person is dead and another is injured after a driver ran a stop sign in Salt Lake City Friday afternoon.

A Salt Lake City Police spokesman said it happened around 5:20 in the area of 1100 E Bryan Ave.

The victims are a man in his 40s and another in his 60s. The SLCPD spokesman could not confirm which of the men died but said they were both taken to a hospital.

Police have reopened 1100 E but Bryan Ave. is expected to be closed until late Friday night.
