KEARNS, Utah — A 42-year-old man and a dog died Thursday morning in a house fire in Kearns.
The fire started around 9 a.m. in the basement of a home at 4340 W 5335 S.
Another man who lives at the home was able to escape safely.
Officials with the Unified Fire Authority reported the fire was extinguished by 9:37 a.m.
The identity of the person who died in the fire was not immediately released.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No one else was hurt.
