MORGAN COUNTY, Utah — An investigation is underway after a jet ski accident left one man dead at East Canyon State Park Wednesday evening.

The man who died was later identified as Benjamin Paul Rosser, 30, from Salt Lake City. Officials added Rosser is originally from Pennsylvania.

At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, park police received reports of a crash at East Canyon State Park.

Officials reported Rosser was operating a jet ski by himself when he crashed into a steep rockface on the west side of the reservoir.

A fisherman saw the crash and called for help, sending rangers to the area in their patrol boat.

Officials said Rosser had already died of his injuries by the time they arrived in the area and that he was wearing a life jacket at the time of the crash.

Park officials are working with the Medical Examiner from Morgan County Sheriff's Office to investigate the incident.
