OGDEN, Utah — The Weber County Attorney's Office released footage Monday of a non-fatal shooting by an Ogden Police officer last month.
The footage appears to show, as police said the night of the incident, a man advancing toward an officer while pointing what looked like a handgun at her. The officer then fired several rounds, hitting him at least once. It was later determined that the gun he pointed was an airsoft gun. He also was wielding a large kitchen knife.

The scene was captured on the officer's body-worn camera and the home's security camera.
The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Gavin Johansen.
Police say Johansen was threatening to kill himself that night and was armed with a shotgun. A case worker with the Utah Department of Human Services called 911 to report it, and later updated police that Johansen was fighting with people inside the home while still armed.
When police arrived at the front door of the home, Johansen reportedly exited the back basement door and advanced toward an officer who was stationed there as they had set up a perimeter. Footage from the security camera shows a person grabbing Johansen from behind as he goes out the door, attempting to stop him from advancing toward the officer. That individual then ducked back inside as the officer fired shots.
Johansen's wounds were non-life-threatening, and he was later charged with aggravated assault against a peace officer, aggravated assault, and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person. Court documents state that a condition of his probation for an offense he committed as a juvenile was that he not possess any firearms or other dangerous weapons.
