SALT LAKE CITY — A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in the Ballpark neighborhood Friday evening. The driver is on the scene cooperating with the investigation.
At 7:45 p.m. officials received reports of a crash on State Street near 1110 South, preliminary investigation revealed a 62-year-old woman was driving southbound when she struck the 22-year-old man as he crossed the street.
He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Southbound traffic will be diverted to Main Street at Herbert Avenue, the detour is expected to remain in place for several hours.
