SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake City courthouse has been evacuated due to an unknown substance found in a letter, police said.
The John Baxter Courthouse at 333 South 200 East was evacuated at approximately 3 p.m. after the green, powdery substance was discovered in an envelope.
While many were evacuated from the building, some are sheltering in place inside.
A Hazmat team was seen going into the building, with police only sharing that the substance in the envelope had not yet been identified and that the scene was still active.
