Thousands lose power in northern Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — More than 3,600 Rocky Mountain Power customers were without electricity Tuesday morning as an October storm brought widespread rain and snow to northern Utah.

As of 9:45 a.m. most of the outages were in the Salt Lake City area with more than 3,200 customers. The remaining outages were scattered throughout Provo, Layton and Park City.

Crews were working to restore power.
