WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A man is in custody after West Valley Police say he led them on a chase in a stolen car then carjacked a pizza delivery vehicle.
It started Tuesday night when two detectives saw the man filling up the stolen vehicle with gas.
But when they approached the man, he rammed the police cars with the stolen car and sped away.
Officers found the stolen vehicle abandoned, but discovered he had carjacked a Domino’s Pizza driver’s car, and took off in it.
Officers spotted the Domino's delivery car on Redwood Road and pursued it until it crashed at Indiana Ave.
The suspect was hospitalized, but is expected to be charged with aggravated assault, carjacking and endangering police officers.
No one else was injured.
