WEBER COUNTY, Utah — A 33-year-old man was killed in a construction accident in Weber County Tuesday morning.
Lt. Courtney Ryan with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened around 9:40 a.m. in the area of 5800 West and 1100 South.
The man was working on a water pipeline project and was in a trench when he was crushed by the bucket of a trackhoe excavator, Lt. Ryan said.
Crews from several agencies worked to save the man, but he died while being transported to a hospital in a medical helicopter.
The man’s identity had not been released by midday Wednesday as his next of kin had not been notified.
The man was working for a private company, not a public utility company, Lt. Ryan said.
