ST. GEORGE, Utah — A man surrendered to police after an hours-long standoff in Little Valley, the St. George News reports.
Police had returned to the home Tuesday after responding to a family fight there late Monday night.
In the first incident, officers arrested 46-year-old Craig Devon Alldredge, who had left an alcohol detox program four days before and was taking medication while drinking “an unknown amount of whisky,” according to a probable cause statement.
Alldredge was threatening to shoot several family members, the affidavit said.
Alldredge was taken into custody but released from jail several hours later with a no-contact order in place. He returned to the home shortly before ten Tuesday morning and St. George police were called along with the department’s SWAT team.
After a more than 3-hour standoff, Alldredge surrendered to authorities and was transported to jail.
As a precaution, two schools, Little Valley Elementary and Sunrise Ridge Intermediate, were placed on lockout until the area was deemed safe.
Alldredge was booked on ten misdemeanor charges, including five counts of threat of violence, two counts of assault on a healthcare worker, interfering with an arrest, intoxication and disorderly conduct.
