PARK CITY, Utah — A man was pronounced dead Friday after losing consciousness on a ski lift at Deer Valley Resort.
The 78-year-old skier became unconscious on the Carpenter chairlift, according to Park City Police. He was treated immediately upon reaching the top of the lift, but CPR and other lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.
He passed away in an ambulance, a Deer Valley spokesperson said.
Park City Police said his death was believed to be related to a pre-existing condition, but the medical examiner's office will determine the exact cause.
"Our deepest condolences to the skier's family and friends," a resort spokesperson said.
The man's name was not released as of Saturday afternoon.
