MILLCREEK, Utah — Unified Police are working to identify the suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.
On Monday afternoon, UPD identified the victim as 21-year-old Manuel Felipe Gonzalez-Cortez.
Around 12:30 a.m., UPD Detective Kevin Mallory says a passerby called 911 to report that someone had been shot in front of a car wash at 635 W. 3900 South.
Officers responded and found Gonzalez-Cortez with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Police on Sunday were canvassing the area for surveillance video, witnesses and any additional information or leads.
Mallory asked that anyone who may have seen or heard anything possibly related to the crime, including any form of altercation, to contact UPD at 801-743-7000.
