OGDEN, Utah — A man faces a felony charge of threatening terrorism after an incident at the Ogden Police station on New Year's Eve.
According to a probable cause statement, 40-year-old Donald Michael Hammans entered the station and demanded "his rights to [to] be restored."
"He then pulled out what appeared to be a lighter and container with liquid inside and stated that it would be the light and we wouldn't like it if the items combined," the statement says. "This affected and stopped all activities in the records staff of the police department."
Officers began to approach Hammans, who quickly went to the parking lot and drove away, the statement says.
Police followed Hammans, who then ran a stop sign before he was arrested, the statement says.
The threat of terrorism charge is a second-degree felony.
