SANDY, Utah — A Macy's store in the Salt Lake City area is among those that will be shuttered by the company.

On Wednesday, Macy's Inc. announced 45 stores will be closed by the middle of the year and the location at Shops at South Town in Sandy is on the list.

Most of the stores will be closed before April 30, but the Sandy store won't be shut down until mid-year, although an exact date was not given.

The closure will leave only two Macy's stores in Utah; the locations at City Creek Center and Fashion Place in Murray.

In February, Macy's announced that it would close 125 stores over the next three years.
