MILLARD COUNTY — The Millard County Sheriff's Office and the Utah State Bureau of Investigations are gathering information following a vehicle pursuit in which a gunshot was fired in Millard County.
According to MCSO, around 10 a.m. Thursday a call came in about a suspicious vehicle in a neighborhood in Scipio, Utah. A sheriff was dispatched to check on the vehicle and initially could not spot the vehicle described by witnesses.
Moments later, the truck was spotted at a local fuel station. The sheriff approached the vehicle and a pursuit engaged. The suspect got onto I-15 and drove southbound before taking an exit near mile marker 181 and going off-road and driving through some trees.
The pursuit ended and as sheriff's approached the vehicle, they discovered the suspect with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. First aid was immediately administered before the suspect was taken to a local hospital. The sheriff's office is investigating where the gunshot wound came from.
