Intermountain Healthcare has announced Wednesday that it is expanding community COVID-19 assessment and testing sites throughout the state.
According to Intermountain, this expansion will allow up to an additional 1,500 samples and 1,000 tests to be processed per day at 21 curbside community sites throughout Utah and Idaho. For a list of locations click here.
“With more than 20 community testing locations, our caregivers are working hard to stop the spread of COVID-19,” said Rebekah Couper-Noles, vice president of operations for Intermountain Medical Group. “Intermountain has tested more than 9,000 people since March 16 through our community testing program, in-clinic swabs, and hospital patient tests. Adding additional capacity for testing will help our community at this time.”
During a Zoom meeting hosted by clinical leaders at Intermountain Healthcare, a demonstration was given about what is being done at the COVID-19 testing sites.
Before visiting one of the testing locations, those with mild symptoms are encouraged to do an initial screening by calling Intermountain's COVID-19 hotline at 844-442-5224 or by checking online at Intermountain's online symptom checker.
Testing at these sites will be administered without a physician's order and is available to everyone with or without health insurance.
