ICE arrests 122 people illegally living in Utah, other nearby states on various criminal charges

SALT LAKE CITY — United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers arrested more than 100 people in a recent operation targeting individuals suspected of "crimes involving victims" in Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Montana, the agency announced Tuesday.

Of the 122 people arrested on suspicion of living illegally in the U.S., ICE said about 85 percent had criminal convictions or pending charges.

According to ICE, some of the people arrested in Utah included:

  • A 28-year-old citizen of Mexico, arrested in Salt Lake City with child sex abuse and spousal battery convictions
  • A 33-year-old citizen of Honduras, arrested in Salt Lake City with drug distribution and illegal immigration-related convictions
  • A 37-year-old citizen of Laos, arrested in Ogden convicted of minor enticement and dealing harmful material to a minor
