NEPHI, Utah — The northbound lanes of I-15 have reopened in Nephi after a gas tanker lost its pup trailer Tuesday morning, forcing Utah Highway Patrol troopers to close the freeway in both directions.
According to UHP, a pup trailer full of gasoline became detached from the tanker.
"The pup trailer rolled and is leaking," a tweet from UHP said.
As of 10:04 Tuesday morning, the fuel has been offloaded and crews are working to bring the trailer upright.
UHP said the trailer was isolated to the median and did not pose a threat to the public or nearby structures.
The southbound lanes are expected to open shortly.
