An early morning fire caused substantial damage to at least one home in Ogden on Saturday.

Crews were initially dispatched to the home at 979 Patterson Street around 4:40 am.

Upon arrival, crews saw active fire coming from the west side of the home. Crews started fighting the blaze from the exterior before making entry into the home to assess conditions there.

An interior attack was then utilized to determine the seat of the fire.

A home to the west was also exposed to the fire, and crews were assigned to mitigate a fire found in the attic of that structure.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and the combined damages for both homes are estimated at $150,000.

All occupants were able to safely exit the home before crews arrived.

18 firefighters from Ogden City and South Ogden Fire Departments responded.
