SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah — A 2-year-old boy is recovering Wednesday afternoon after nearly drowning in a pool in Saratoga Springs.

It happened at a home near 2700 S Stillwater Dr.

A Saratoga Springs Fire and Rescue spokesman said someone found the child at the bottom of the pool and a family member performed CPR. By the time emergency crews arrived, the boy was conscious and breathing.

A medical helicopter that had been called to the scene wasn't needed and the boy went to a hospital via ground transportation.

"As a reminder, please be extremely cautious when you are in a pool, being attentive to those who can't swim is critical. This time of year, we have too many of these incidents," said Deputy Fire Chief Kenny Johnson, Saratoga Springs Fire and Rescue.
