WEST HAVEN, Utah — Crews have gained control on a fire that spread through an industrial area in West Haven Saturday.

According to West Haven City and Weber Fire District officials, the fire started on the railroad tracks near Midland Drive and 1900 West around 4:30 p.m. before spreading into a salvage yard, where it burned 13-14 vehicles.

The fire also damaged the rear of two buildings, but caused no internal damage.

Three firefighters also suffered injuries due to smoke inhalation.

Massive plumes of black smoke were visible from across Weber County but have since died down.

Around 6 p.m., the Weber Fire District tweeted that the fire is "under control now."

1900 West was shut down, and residents were asked to avoid the general area.
