SALT LAKE CITY — Fans were watching closely as the announcement was made that the Utah Jazz was getting a new owner.

“I was nervous,” Colby Sanders told us when asked what his first thought was when he saw the news of the sale.

Sanders is a super fan that has spoken with FOX 13 on many occasions.

“The Jazz are one of the biggest things in my life and so I am glad that they will still be here in Utah for years to come,” he says. “When she said selling the team I was concerned but yeah but Ryan, he has done a lot with Qualtirics and five for the fight.”

Others echoed the relief that fans are feeling.

“It builds comradery with everyone around the town… events for families kids… couples… areas to frequent” Kyler Enbisk, a self-proclaimed basketball fan told us. “Just things to go to so I think its always a good thing to maintain and keep the team here.”

Chris Jeffery, a Salt Lake City Resident brought up another thing on a lot of people's minds, “[The Jazz has] been competitive for the last number of years, so as long as they keep the nucleus of the team we have today together… you know that leads to a championship for Salt Lake”

Will the Championship come to Salt Lake? The big question that only time will tell.
