SALT LAKE CITY — Residents in the Mt. Aire area have been advised to evacuate as air and ground resources respond to a new fire near mile marker 133 off the I-80 East bound.
The evacuation center for residents will be at Skyline High School, 3251 E. 3760 S. SLC.

Red Cross estimates the shelter will be operational at 7:45 pm.
Eastbound lanes of I-80 are now open, but the 132 and 134 exits are still closed. Drivers should use caution and be alert when driving past the fire site.

The fire as of Thursday night is 200 acres and growing and 0 percent contained. The cause is unknown.
A type three team will arrive on Friday to assist in extinguishing the fire.
