ELKO, Nev. — The suspect wanted for a shooting that left one person dead in Elko, Nevada last week has been arrested.
Police say Austin William Himmelman was taken into custody Tuesday after he was found in the Reno area. Himmelman is believed to have shot two people at a trailer park Saturday morning in the southern part of Elko.
The male victim, later identified as 32-year-old Matthew Allen Baze of Elko, was found in front of a mobile home. A female victim was found inside the home.
Baze died from his wounds after being flown to Salt Lake City for advanced care. The female victim underwent surgery and is recovering.
Himmelman has been charged with Prohibited Person Possessing a Firearm, but additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
