HANNA, Utah — A Duchesne County man was found alive on Christmas, more than a day after he crashed his truck on SR-208 and was seriously injured.

The Department of Public Safety says the man was reported missing Friday after he was last seen Wednesday night.

According to officials, the man's truck ran off the road before settling nearly 50 feet west of the highway near Mile Marker 8 and falling down a 60-foot ravine embankment.

Because of the injuries he suffered in the accident, the man stayed in the truck until he was spotted by a local resident at 2 p.m. on Christmas Day. The man heard the resident skeet shooting and fired his own rifle to get attention.

Utah Highway Patrol and EMS crews used ropes to scale down the ravine and rescue the driver who was life-flighted to University of Utah Hospital for treatment.
