SALT LAKE CITY — Drivers who will merge from westbound I-80 to northbound I-15 at 2100 S Tuesday morning are urged to watch out for emergency crews as they clean up after a semitrailer fire.
The semitrailer, which was hauling laundry detergent and diapers, caught fire shortly after 9 p.m. Monday.
Utah Department of Transportation officials initially said they expected the scene to be cleared by 10:15, but the fire proved difficult to extinguish and cleanup continues as of 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Crews hope to have the fire scene cleared ahead of the morning rush hour.
