CENTERVILLE, Utah — A small business in Centerville played a big role during President Joe Biden’s inauguration Wednesday.

Fifty Star Productions provided a massive centerpiece flag used on the National Mall.

“It certainly was never anything on my radar by any means, it’s not anything I would have thought I would do for sure,” said owner Amy Barnett.

The 150-by-300-foot flag shipped out in pieces last week.

"It was a production company who Googled us, who had Googled, ‘where can I find a big giant flag’ and found me. That was awesome,” Barnett said.

A small team followed the flag, who eagerly navigated the unique installation during high security and frequent COVID-19 testing.

“It was a little odd. They planted all the flags on all of the mall panels all the way down rather than spectators. It took a little getting used to,” said Kendal White of Farmington.

The size of a football field, the flag isn’t new to a national spotlight. It travels from NFL stadiums and Major League Baseball fields.

However, business fell silent 11 months ago because of the pandemic.

“It was good to get them back out earning some money and having a good time. I picked some of my best guys to make sure it went well,” said Barnett.

Barnett said helping with the presidential inauguration was an unforgettable honor during a difficult time for her business.

"We don’t even need to think about putting it on the bucket list because we already did it,” she said.
