CEDAR CITY, Utah — Students and staff at Cedar City High School were evacuated Monday after a bomb threat was called into the school.
Officials say they received a 911 call regarding a potential bomb threat at around 2 p.m. The school was immediately placed under a Level 2 lockdown as Iron County law enforcement personnel began evacuating the building.
A bomb-sniffing K-9 officer and the St. George bomb squad were called in after a suspicious bag was found during a search of the school. The bomb squad assessed the threat and did not find a bomb or any explosive device.
The school was later removed from lockdown.
