LEEDS, Utah — A brand-new Ford Raptor pickup truck is a total loss after it caught fire while being towed behind an RV on I-15 in Washington County on Friday.
A State Bureau of Investigations spokesman told FOX 13 the transmission for the truck had been placed in neutral, but the gears were still engaging as the truck was towed behind a 40-foot RV.
The truck heated up and the RV's driver exited I-15 in Leeds after noticing smoke coming from behind the RV.
Hurricane Valley Fire crews responded to put out the blaze, but the truck was already fully engulfed in flames by the time fire crews arrived. The back of the RV also sustained fire damage.
The RV's male driver and female passenger were not injured, the SBI spokesman said.
