WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Two teens recently freed after serving time for the murder of a West Valley City Police officer are back in trouble with the law again.
Police say 18-year-old Christopher Boggs was arrested by West Valley City Police early Monday morning for driving a stolen car with a gunshot victim inside of it.
That victim was his 17-year-old brother Lawrence Boggs. He is in critical condition.
Police say the shooting happened in Salt Lake City around 3 a.m.
The brothers both served time for killing Officer Cody Brotherson in November of 2016.
The two of them, along with a third teenager, were driving a stolen car and hit Brotherson, who was laying down spike strips.
Christopher Boggs was released from custody in March.
Lawrence Boggs was released on May 28, about four months early due to COVID-19 concerns at the state prison.
Both had pleaded guilty to lesser charges in Brotherson’s death while the third teen pleaded guilty to second degree murder.
