SPRINGDELL, Utah — A boy broke his femur Sunday near Bridal Veil Falls after officials said the boy tipped an ATV he and his friends were riding.
According to Captain Sam Armstrong with the Provo Fire Department, at around 3:43 p.m. Sunday, dispatchers got a call saying a 13-year-old boy had tipped an ATV and was hurt.
Armstrong said the boy broke his femur when the ATV was tipped.
LifeFlight was called, Armstrong said, so the boy could be transported in a less painful way. Armstrong said that because the boy broke his femur, riding on a 4-wheeler even a short distance to an ambulance could be incredibly painful. At the time of this report, LifeFlight was not able to land near the boy but was staying in the area to possibly transport him to the hospital.
As of this report, Armstrong said the boy had no other injuries, and was conscious.
