KANARRAVILLE, Utah — Iron County Sheriff's Office say that the malebody found in a farm field in Kanarraville, Utah died due to severe weather conditions.

On February 29, 2020, investigators arrived at the field and discovered a deceased male but were unable to identify the man due to the condition of the body and lack of any identification.

The body was taken to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death. With the help of Utah Highway Patrol, investigators were able to possibly connect the body to an abandoned vehicle found on I-15 near milepost 49, during a snowstorm that occurred on Feb. 9, 2020.

A medical examiner was able to determine that the deceased male, a 22-year-old resident of Taylorsville, Utah, was the registered owner of the found vehicle. No name has been released, but authorities do not expect foul play.

The condition of the body indicates that the male died due to the extreme cold and snowfall while the male was walking away from the crash towards the town of Kanarraville.
