SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah — Unified Police have reopened Big Cottonwood Canyon to uphill traffic after closing it Thursday afternoon due to multiple slide-offs.

The closure affected SR-190 from the mouth of the canyon to Cardiff Fork, which is at milepost 10.7, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

A Unified Police spokesman said the closure will remain in effect until UDOT can plow the roadway and the cars that slid off the road are cleared. Since the roads have been cleared, the road is back open.
