OGDEN, Utah — Two suspects are in custody after a 10-month-old Ogden girl was abducted Wednesday, prompting a Utah Amber Alert.
Amila Spratley's mother was driving with her baby and another adult when she stopped at a home on Patterson Street, leaving the infant in the care of the adult passenger. The passenger also left the car to go inside the house as the vehicle's engine continued running with Amila inside.
Seeing the car with the keys still inside, Angel Jusso, 34, and Roddy Mike Montes, 20, stole the Acura TL with the baby in the backseat.
Spratley's mother immediately called 9-1-1 which prompted the Amber Alert to be issued. Ogden Police Chief Randy Watt said that following the alert, officials received numerous tips on the vehicle's location.
Around 12:30 p.m., a witness saw Jusso and Montes drop Amila off in a car seat and leave her unattended on the front porch of a home in Plain City.
After a brief pursuit, the two suspects abandoned the car and fled on foot where they were later apprehended.
Watt said the investigation is ongoing, but that Jusso and Montes will, at a minimum, be charged with child kidnapping and auto theft.
Amila Spratley is in good health and suffered no injuries during the incident.
