Skyline High School in the Granite School District will learn virtually for the next two weeks while students quarantine.

There are 41 school districts in the State of Utah with more than 1,000 schools—so far 51, are closed.

Davis, Ogden and Weber School District have two schools that are quarantined.

The Jordan School District has one school working all online.

The Granite School District has five schools doing all virtual learning as of Thursday.

All 27 schools within the Salt Lake City School District have been on a soft closure since the beginning of the school year — meaning all students have been online.

San Juan County School District has said that all 12 of their schools are on a soft closure.

Lane Findlay, the community relations spokesman for the Weber School District, said they have created a new online-only school district in efforts to lighten the load for their teachers.

“This is taking the long-term learners, the ones that have elected to be online for the entire quarter,” said Findlay. “It will take them and put them under Weber Online where we’ll have teachers assigned and a new principal.”

So far, Findlay said the district anticipates having 3,000 students sign up to join their new online district next week, with about 15 teachers scheduled to teach.
