ALTA, Utah — Hey, world! Tell us something we don't know!
It should come as no surprise that two Utah ski resorts were ranked among the very best in North America.
We're talking the entire continent, not just the country.
ZRankings newest list of the top ski resorts contains two resorts that are just minutes from the Salt Lake City area, just confirming how great it is to live in Utah.
Snowbird came in at No. 3 thanks to its terrain and high quality snow.
"Snowbird's slopes soar majestically up, its steep fall lines in full sight from the floor of Little Cottonwood, the best snow trap in the world." the rankings say.
On top of the snow and location, ZRankings lauds Cliff Lodge as being the "best ski hotel on the west side of the Wasatch."
Just behind Snowbird at No. 4 is its neighbor, the Alta Ski Area.
Forget everything else, the rankings attribute Alta's snow as being the reason the resort is near the top of the list.
"Alta features some of North America's very best terrain and scenery along with what is, without a doubt, the best snow not in Alaska." says ZRankings.
Another big selling point is Alta's nod to yesteryear in evoking how skiing was before it became known more for the whole package rather than the sport itself.
"For skiers, Alta is holy ground, a necessary pilgrimage that deserves one visit from every enterprising two-planker who ever thought of skiing powder on a bluebird day. Alta can make an ordinary ski vacation a lifetime memory." the rankings exclaim.
