DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah — Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident involving a cow in Duchesne County on Sunday.
At approximately 8:15 p.m., a Ford Explorer struck a cow while traveling eastbound on SR-102. The male driver of the Explorer and a female passenger in another vehicle driving behind got out to take a look at the damage.
While standing on shoulder of the road, a GMC pickup truck traveling the other way struck the cow and lost control, hitting the Ford Explorer. The Ford was pushed forward, striking the two people on the road.
The 48-year-old male died on impact, while the 31-year-old female from Vernal was transported to the Uintah Basin Medical Center where she later died. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
