Tennessee rodeo clown Lecile Harris has passed away at the age of 83, according to a Facebook post on his page.
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Hall of Famer died in his sleep Wednesday night. Harris had just performed at the 55th Dixie National Rodeo and Livestock show in Jackson, Mississippi.
Stan Lewis of the Lehi Rodeo described his friend as an entertainer. "He was a celebrity, he was an honorable man one that you could trust and he was a friend with all he came in contact with," Lewis said.
Harris would pay visits to Utah and participate in the Lehi Round Up rodeo.
Lecile would rack up many accolades in his impressive 65-year career as a rodeo clown including: 4 time PRCA Clown of the Year and being inducted into the PRCA Hall of Fame.
FOX 13 highlighted Lecile in a segment of Booming Forward last summer.
