First responders throughout Nevada said goodbye to one of their own on Saturday.
Nevada Highway Patrol says Sergeant Ben Jenkins had stopped to help a motorist when he was shot and killed early Friday morning.
After a manhunt, 65-year-old John Dabitz was found 100 miles away and arrested.
Sergeant Jenkins was a decorated trooper who had served in several agencies in Nevada, as well as the Army and National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, mother, four children, and five grandchildren.
