SALT LAKE CITY — Vivint Smart Home Arena is one of about 60 polling places in Salt Lake County where votes can be cast Tuesday.
It's one of 20 NBA arenas around the country that have been set up as voting locations.
Frank Zang, Senior Vice President of Communications with Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment joined Tamara Vaifanua on Good Day Utah early Tuesday morning, and said it is a privilege to provide a polling station and partner with Salt Lake County.
“The advantages of Vivint Arena are one, people are familiar with this place, it’s a community gathering spot for concerts and Utah Jazz games,” Zang said. “It’s very accessible, we’ve got the TRAX station lying here, and free parking across the street at Park Place, and then the size of the arena allows for social distancing so people can vote in a safe manner.”
Volunteers have it all set up. If you decide to vote at Vivint Arena, enter through Gate 5, the main entrance. The entire concourse will be in use so people can line up safely. They'll go to one of 25 polling places set up along the concourse. Once they cast their vote, they'll exit out of Gate 4.
“We’ve got a lot of space to work with and we encourage people to come out and vote," Zang said.
There are also polling places at select Larry H. Miller Megaplex theaters in Utah.
