SALT LAKE CITY — Vice President Mike Pence is expected to arrive in Utah Monday ahead of Wednesday’s debate against Senator Kamala Harris, Joe Biden's running mate.

Senator Harris arrived in Utah Saturday.

Road closures continue to expand near campus this to make room for staging equipment, work trailers and satellite trucks.

The area near President’s Circle is primarily impacted.

University street between 100 and 300 South remains shut down until Thursday.

Beginning Tuesday, 100 South will be closed in both directions, also until Thursday.

Parking on these streets is prohibited and some parking lots are also inaccessible.

Officials urge drivers to read the signs to avoid getting cited or towed.

UTA buses, the campus shuttle and SafeRide are also impacted most of the week.

There may be extra traffic around town this week since the national media will be here to cover Pence, Harris and the debate.

Tickets are very limited, and people who do go will need to be tested and then self-quarantine.

Masks and social distancing will be enforced.

Classes remain online to keep students away from campus and lower the chances of COVID-19 spreading.

This will be the only vice presidential debate.
