WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man suspected of fraud.
West Valley City Police shared two photos taken from a camera at a drive-up window of an undisclosed bank.
"This happy little fella tried to cash a fraudulent check using altered ID," the department wrote, referring to the suspect smiling in the photos. "We’re not happy about that & neither is the victim. We’d like to chat with him."
Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call (801) 840-4000 and reference case number 20i041099. Tips can be made anonymously.
Police also clarified that the dog seen in the car with the man is not wanted for any alleged crimes and is a “good boy."
