PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — A Pleasant Grove man arrested following a domestic abuse incident kicked a police officer in the head while he was being transported to jail, causing the officer to partially lose consciousness.
Chandler Owen Donkersgoed, 27, was taken into custody Tuesday after becoming agitated when police arrived at his apartment following a domestic violence call.

A woman was on the scene screaming and yelling for help, according to the police report.
It took two officers to place Donkersgoed, who was intoxicated, into a patrol truck. Once inside, Donkersgoed began pushing and kicking a window until it almost broke.
Officers removed Donkersgoed for his own safety, put cuffs on his ankles and was placed him back into the truck.
During the trip to the Utah County Jail, Donkersgoed allegedly kicked the officer driving in the head with both feet. The officer reported seeing "stars and became nauseous" before hitting a median on Interstate 15.

Donkersgoed then kicked the officer in the face, forcing him to pull over before he wrecked the police vehicle. The officer removed Donkersgoed from the vehicle and held him on the ground until other officers arrived.
Donkersgoed was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, intoxication and assault on a police officer.
