SALT LAKE CITY — Governor Gary Herbert signed 19 bills into law from the latest special session of the legislature.
They include more measures designed to provide relief during the COVID-19 pandemic, spending more than $150 million in federal money. Another bill tweaks the qualifications for who can lead Utah's Department of Health by allowing health care consultant Rich Saunders to assume the post (he's currently serving as interim director).
Another bill would expand the options available to voters ahead of the November election by increasing the availability ballot drop boxes, drive-thru voting and ensuring vote-by-mail remains in place in Utah.
