Utah's COVID-19 numbers drop by more than 1,000 cases in Sunday's report

Sunday's report from the Utah Department of Health shows a drop in daily cases, but a rise in the rolling seven-day average compared to Saturday's report.

New Cases
The Utah Department of Health is reporting 2,563 new cases on Sunday, for a total of 215,407 cases statewide since March.

Testing
9,540 new tests have been reported since Saturday. 1,495,351 Utahns have been tested since the pandemic began. The rolling seven-day average of positive tests is now 3,077, or roughly 26.6% of those tested.

Hospitalizations
595 people are currently hospitalized with the virus. 8,822 people have been hospitalized since March.

Deaths
No new deaths have been reported, keeping the statewide death toll at 939.
