Utah tops 1,000 COVID-19 deaths, 3,401 new cases reported

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah topped the 1,000 COVID-19 deaths mark Thursday as the Utah Department of Health's report shows an increase of 3,401 confirmed cases and 21 more deaths.

The state has now recorded 1,016 total deaths from the coronavirus.

Utah's rolling seven-day average for positive tests now stands at 2,816 per day, with the rolling seven-day average for the percent of positive tests is 26.2 percent.

As of Wednesday, 554 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with the coronavirus.
